The Red Baron is a re-interpretation of the career and state of mind of the most successful fighter pilot in the First World War, Manfred von Richthofen. In three scenes the text takes him from dedicated killer, to troubled mourner of a downed pilot friend, to re-thinking his role as a state-hired assassin.

Sadly, Hendon Museum’s concerns for the security of irreplaceable physical assets – the aeroplane collection – curtailed the run. We are considering ways to bring the play back to fulfil its potential for its not-yet exhausted audience.
