Appearing in The Professionals

The Professionals 1978 Robert Gillespie

Not many actors have my huge advantage of being professionally nondescript – which is why I was able to appear in TWO episodes of The Professionals. Admittedly, with a beard and wiped-out pre-title, but an achievement all the same. Happened on other occasions, also.

For example, being nondescript became a huge asset in sitcom. I was so “nobody-in-particular” that I played in two Harry Worths – even after he tried to have me neutered see my book Are You Going to do That Little Jump? The Adventure Continues

Only Brian Cooke detected some sort of recognisable personality in me and wrote Dudley Rush in Keep it in The Family – insisting that the character was – ME.

So, whenever I lose track of who I am, I watch an episode of Keep it in The Family.
