The Hungarian Count, part ten

There was more correspondence with agents in New York, the UK and France about rights and percentages. Until, finally, Nicholas got his version of our translation-from-the-French and began a meticulously detailed revising of his own script – the French version – presumably for a production in France. It begins like this (note how good his French is):

Note: he is undertaking drastic changes to his Wallenberg script. Then, this arrived…

Married, eh? Presumably, to the lady we met in his company in London. However…

Shame, really – but you can’t keep a good Hungarian Count down…

The fancy typewriter font is impressive. So is the man’s tenacity. This was our reply…

We never heard from Nicholas Wenckheim again. But…
