I very nearly made an entire career playing small-time criminals… after starting life in the heavy stuff, Shakespeare at the Old Vic (two years of it) and thinking this might point to the road ahead for ever… I got a shock. I emerged, blinking, from under the protective skirts of the BARD and faced a commercial world which, unerringly, saw me as — a crook. Deep sigh…
But… the crook in this episode of The Professionals turned out be a pleasure to play. Am astonished at my youthful athleticism!
And it was a pleasure to be mauled by two such consummate pros as Lewis Collins and Martin Shaw.
